Manila welcomed another new restaurant in the past year with Kettle. Also housed in Shangri-La Mall’s new wing in Edsa, Kettle offers simple American comfort food. The meals are prepared with not too much fanfare. Rather, it provides customers with dependable and familiar dishes that are presented beautifully.
The restaurant’s signature dish is the buttermilk fried chicken served with honey glazed corn bread, which gives customers that southern food fix. I personally did not have this but left it to the rest of my family to savor.
For the vegetarian, there is a delicious albeit heavy truffle gorgonzola pasta. The dish was appetizing and definitely left me quite full and satisfied afterward.
Prior to the main course offering, we lightened things up with the Kettle House Salad. Getting our greens in, the dish consisted of an arugula, romaine mix, toffee walnuts, bacon, manchego cheese drizzled with a berry balsamic dressing. The salad was a great primer to our impending food choices for the evening.
